Give us a brief background on what you do as a style & image consultant:
Have you ever had an important business meeting and did not know what to wear and furthermore have no idea what kind of message you sent out by your outer appearance? Going on a date and don’t want to be over- nor underdressed but don’t know how to do that? Is all of your outer appearance aligned and sending out the same message or is it a bit of different messages?
That is where I step in and together we create your million dollar look and make sure all of your appearances are sending out the same message. It will help you understand how to use clothes to strengthen your business and be more successful by finding your own personal signature style.
What motivated you to launch your business?
In my first part of my life, I moved all over the globe, raised 3 children and still have been working. Now that the kids are all grown up it was time to focus on what I always wanted to be. A passionate entrepreneur, bringing my message into the world, sharing my expertise of more than 30 years in the fashion business and helping my clients find their best version of themselves. Also, I love to take the stage and passionately talk about the topic “How you show up matters!”
What does success mean to you?
Having the courage and freedom to do what I really want to do in life. I am happy and successful when my clients are moving forward and seeing better results for them only because they changed their mindset about their outer appearance and what impact that had on all different levels in their life. I find my personal happiness in spending enough time with friends and family, travel the world and get inspired by the beauty of nature and all the different cultures on this beautiful earth.
Being an entrepreneur is not always easy. What has been the hardest part for you?
Finding clarity in what I wanted to do exactly. Finding the self-confidence to believe I really could do it. Finding the right people to support me and have the same goals in life. Starting a business from scratch is not a walk in the park and there were days (and actually still are, but less now) where I thought “I cannot do this, why am I doing that?”
What is your favorite quote and explain why?
I have a lot of favorites, but if I had to choose one, it would be this one from Oprah Winfrey.
“You will find true success and happiness if you have only 1 goal there really is only 1 and that is this.”
To fulfill the highest most truthful expression of yourself as a human being you want to max out your humanity by using your energy to lift yourself up, your family, and the people around you.
To max out your humanity you have to bring your message to the world and help other people in no matter what your topic is.
How important is it for you to have a business coach?
A coach is substantial to our business at all times. A coach keeps you accountable, focused and by looking at it from the outside, a coach makes visible what we cannot see being in the situation. He or she pushes you to be better every single day. I have three different coaches and I couldn’t do it without them. Every successful business person has coached, every top athlete has several coaches.
What are some guidelines of advice you can give people who are interested in starting their own business?
- Be crystal clear about your goals, visions, and strengths. Fix your mindset first before you even start.
- You have to know everything about your business but please don’t try to do it all alone (typical women’s problem)
- Network, network, network. Together we are not only stronger but are creating so many more opportunities.
How do you overcome rejection?
A rejection is a clear sign for me that I wasn’t able to communicate the advantage for the customer in an appealing way. So, I need to go back and work on that. When you want to become successful in business you have to overcome your ego over and over again, to be the best version of yourself and hence for your clients.
